We awoke out of our slumber and all got together in one room. “So, what do we do today?”
“I suggest that we search for clues at the museum.” Noah said.
“Well, I can’t go there,” Tricia added, “The boss said he never wanted to see me around there again.”
“We should also keep an eye on the house.” I said.
“That’s right.” Laura added.
“Okay, I’ll take command. Noah, you go and look around the exhibit in the Library. Laura you go to the house and keep around the clock surveillance of the place. We’ll have someone bring you food.”
“What do you want me to do?” Tricia asked.
“You and I will go to the police department and find out where Michelle lived. Then we will pay a visit to her house.” We all divided up, going where we belonged. I had to stop by the apartment, and while I was inside, with Tricia, I heard a knock on my door. “That’s odd. I’m not expecting anyone.” Tricia, thinking it was Matt, ducked into the other room. I went to the door and opened it.
“Hi, Adam. It’s me, Dan!”
“Dan?”
“You know, your cousin.”
“Hey Dan, nice to see you. Hey Tricia, you can come out now.”
“Tricia?”
“She’s my secretary. Miss Tricia Downing, meet Mr. Daniel Schneider.” They both said ‘how do you do?’ in turn. “So Dan what brings you into this neck of the woods?”
“I joined a Drama Team in college called the Cincinnati Express. We’re touring this area this weekend, so I thought I’d stop by.” I offered him a seat and we talked a while. “I hope you don’t mind. . .”
“Don’t mind?”
“I brought Heidi along.”
“Heidi? Where is she?”
“She’s out in the car. She’s been watching the plays from backstage as part of a prize she won in 4-H.”
“Bring her in.” It was getting close to lunch. Dan left, and returned with Heidi. We greeted her warmly. The phone rang. “Just a minute.” I said. “Hello.”
“Hello, Adam? This is Pat. I just saw Matt and Noelle come in, you might want to get down here.”
“Thanks, bye.” I said, hanging up the phone. “Well Dan, looks like I’m treating you for lunch! By the way, you don’t have any make up kits with you.”
“Sure I do, why?”
“I need to disguise Tricia and me before we go to lunch. We don’t want someone to recognize us.”
“Oh yeah, you said you were a spy. Sure.” He went downstairs and got his kit.
