”’I could get myself captured by Matt, maybe they would put me where Adam is.’ I said. Sure enough, they did. I went to the house and knocked on the door. ‘May I speak to Matt, please.’“

”’What is it?’ he asked.“

”’I wish to give myself up to you.’“

”’WHAT??’“

”’My friends are planning an escape, they don’t think that Adam is worthy enough to sacrifice for the Palette. They have planned a rescue, and if the rescue fails, they will send in the police.’“

”’Thanks, but what do you mean, give yourself up?’ He asked.“

”’If I’m a prisoner too, they will think twice before attempting a rescue. Take me, then call them and tell them of my capture. They won’t try their plan then.’ I pleaded. Matt and Noelle talked about what I had just said.“

”’I think it’s a trap, but you reason well. If not just to see if you’re telling the truth, I would like to see Adam spending the night in the same pit as you. Very well. Bring her.’ I was bound, gagged, and blindfolded. The next thing I knew, I was thrown down this chute, with the food. Here I am!“ She finished.

We ate our meal, then fell asleep. When we awoke, we were dressed in the ”mall clothes.“ It had appeared that we were by the lake, above ground. ”Not this game again!“

”I think we’re really free.“ Tricia said.

”Nonsense, we aren’t supposed to be set free until Saturday.“

”That’s correct, Adam.“ The familiar voice from above said. ”You are in the game again. But you’re only goal here is to survive!“ The voice stopped and a lion dashed out from behind a tree. I got in between the lion and Tricia, and it dashed toward me. The lion lashed it’s paw out at me. I was wounded in the stomach. I grabbed around it’s neck, and choked it with all my might. It disappeared. I stood for a few seconds, then fell to the ground, exhausted. Tricia ran over and tried to help me, but some bats came out of the sky and pulled her away. I reached with my arms trying to grab her feet, to no avail.

This is like the Wizard of Oz, I thought. I got myself up wearily, and clicked my heels together. ”There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home!“ No sooner had I said that, then I awoke to the sound of an alarm. I looked around me. In front of me was a desk, with a computer on top. Two speakers, a tape deck, a printer, and a lamp were close by. To the right was a M1 keyboard. Above the monitor of the computer was a wyteboard with sine and cosine ratios on it. To the left of the board was a closet. It had clothes in it, along with games above them. Turning to my direct left, I saw ‘Adam’s Nook’ next to me, and a night stand with a lamp and a clock that said it was 7:20. I looked at the calender behind me. It said that today was October 5, 1975. I was in my Junior year of High School. I heard a voice.

”Adam, time to get up!“ It was my mother’s voice. But she lived in Great Neck, right?! I got up and went into the kitchen, got my cereal, as always, and went to school. When I got into the school building, I went to my locker and opened it. I saw my messy locker, still untouched, from when I had left it. Noelle came in and opened hers like nothing new had happened.
