My wife came back and came over to me. “Where did you go?”

“Oh. I forgot my sun-tan lotion back in the hotel and I needed to get it.”

“It took you that long to get it?”

“No, but while I was there, an old friend came and talked with me for a while.”

“Oh. Something is fishy here!” I stated. We played some more. The rest of the day passed, and before long it was time for supper. The five of us decided to go out and have supper together. We got all dressed up and went to a quaint little restaurant. There we ate and we returned to the hotel where we went to our separate rooms. Before Jenn turned in, though, she needed to see if her fiancĂ©e had sent her a letter, so she was downstairs.

As my wife and I approached our room, I opened the door and looked inside. The room had been ransacked and a note was pinned to the wall with a knife. It said that a group of natives who were going to sacrifice Tricia to the sun-god, Ammon-Ra, and that if we sent the cops after them, she would surely die. The only way I could get her back was to bring another girl to take her place. I was to make this trade on a volcano far in the hills tomorrow night at nine. “What are we going to do?” My wife asked.

“Well, seeing that I’m not one usually to make deals with angry natives, I think we’ll set a trap.”

“How’s that?”

“Well, we’re going camping tomorrow with Andy and Marie, right?”

“Yes.”

“Well, we’ll just have to camp near the delivery point. Then when the trade time comes, we’ll jump them.” Just then, Jenn walked in the door.

“What did you do to this place!”

“Not much. It was done by some friendly natives.”

“What do they want?”

“Just a trade in human sacrifices.”

“Oh, no.” My wife said, as if she knew what I was going to ask.

“Oh no, what?” I asked.

“You’re not gonna ask me to do that!”

“What?”

“You want me to act as the trade off girl, right?”

“Thanks for volunteering.”

“Okay, for Tricia’s sake, I will.”

“That’s very risky.” Jenn said. I don’t understand why she thought I was going to ask her to trade places, but it sounded like a good idea. After further discussion of our plans for the next day, we all went to bed.

Waking up the next morning, I woke Jenn and my wife up. We called Andy and Marie to our room and discussed the plan. We went downstairs where I saw what I thought was Noah at the front desk, signing in. He was wearing some far out shorts. “Hey Noah, where do you keep the batteries for those shorts?” I asked him.

“You loser, you’re really are a bundle of laughs, but seriously, where were you last night? I got a call from some mean natives who said they were going to sacrifice Tricia, and that she wanted to notify her friends as a last request.”

“You too? We got a knife-o-gram saying the same thing.” My wife responded.
