Beautiful Girl 1 “Do you like it?” She giggled. “This clothing I’m wearing means that I am married. Your suit is the same color.”

“Why?”

“So people will know that we are married.”

“But won’t some colors be the same.”

“No, not for miles. Each couple in each area is assigned a different shade, hue, or tint.”

“Wow. Ryan said that you knew who our contacts were.”

“My Aunt Jenn is down a floor with her husband, John. Aunt Julie with her husband George across the hall. Uncle Noah and his wife, Kate, are the Security Guards.”

“Who am I supposed to be?”

“You’re Adam Schofield, and I’m your wife Carrie Chapman-Schofield.”

“Why Chapman-Schofield?”

“We needed my name to change in case the DD scans my background, they won’t find that I’m a Schofield. That’s also why all the people here are descendants from your daughters Jennifer and Kristen.”

“Okay! I think I’ve got the picture. What’s our cover?”

“We’re newlyweds, you are a up-and-coming author, and I am your inspiration.”

“What am I currently writing?”

“The Mystery of the Disappearing Damsel in Distress.”

“You mean, I finished the Mystery of the Purloined Palette!”

“Yes, but you were going to wait to publish it after you were married. What with the time distortion and all, it never got published.”

“What?!!”

“Yes. I still have the original copy on 5.25″ floppy disc!”

“Wow.”

“Now, you had better re-write them and say they were about a famous detective with your same name. Say that you have done intensive research on the subject.”

“Wait just a second.”

“What?”

“If I’ve finished the book, that means that in it we can read how to find the Double D and everything! You know, I think I know why I never published it.”

“Why’s that?”

“Because, who would believe this, they would think I was a lunatic. When did I finish it?”

“1982. It wasn’t until 1981 when the game tried to kidnap the real you that your memory was allowed to return. But enough about your past, you won’t remember until then anyway. Let’s see if we can access that book.” She said. Going over to a nearby computer she put in a disc. The computer opened the file and found the chapter in which catching the Double D was all explained. It was entitled : Chapter 12: The Capture of the Dastardly Duo. What a catchy title. The funniest thing was reading of our previous conversation. This book was over seventy years old and it had everything we said and did written in it!
