"Use time travel."
"What!?"
"Go back to the time when Carrie was about to get sucked out, and be on the other side of the gap to get her when she comes out."
"You think it will work?"
"As long as you aren’t seen by yourself."
"I’m game."
"Okay, come with me." Rocketing back to Earth, we went back to the lab.
"You realize Adam, that your metabolism is haywire with all these travels through time. You could be a walking time bomb." Doctor Jill said while I went to the place to start the time journey.
"I know, but I must save Carrie."
"Adam, I know we all miss her, but this could be a serious risk."
"I’m ready to go."
"Okay. Wait until your counterpart has come to see me, then you come and see me."
"GO!" I shouted. The color spectrum again appeared, but only for a short while, since it wasn’t that long ago. I appeared at the bank on Tuesday. Seeing myself and Carrie inside, I went to the break. I knocked out one of the workers and stole their space suit and an extra face mask. The DD came out and shot the break. I went outside and around the corner. Carrie ended up in the break.
"Well, I can see why you didn’t want me to read about this!" She said.
"Don’t worry, I won’t let you go." My counterpart said.
"You must. If you don’t return to the past, you will never have any kids, you’ll never write the book, and you’ll never be able to stop the DD."
"But I just can’t let you get sucked into space."
"There’s no time to argue. Do it."
"No!" My counterpart exclaimed, pulling with all his might. The vacuum over came him and she was sucked out into space. I quickly boosted over to her and covered her face with the mask. I flew us over to the break and got us back to the bank.
"What? But you just let me go!" She exclaimed.
"I know, and I couldn’t live knowing that you died because of me."
"Now what do we do."
"Stay low until tomorrow. We must make me think you are dead so that I will rescue you, then we’ll go back to the lab." We did. Going back to the lab, Jill was glad to see us.
"Boy, I almost thought you wouldn’t make it." Jill sighed in relief.
"Yep. We made it. Now what happens?"
"I must erase you’re memory."
"Will I ever remember?"
"Yes, and I will repeat this to you after the process. You’re memory will keep coming back, little by little, until the event that happened in the game future occurs. Then you will remember all. Shall we go?" She asked.
"One minute alone with Carrie, please." She left. "While I still remember you, I want you to know, I think you’re one of the best great granddaughters I could have. You have helped me tremendously, and one more thing."
