Present Box “What’s this? I didn’t call for a party.”

“We thought you could use a little cheering up!” Noah said.

“Yeah, once we heard that you were in the hospital, we flew right up.” Dan said.

“I brought food for everyone.” Kate said. “Courtesy of McDuncans.” Everyone laughed.

“Hey Adam, did you get today’s paper?” Andy asked.

“No.”

“Well, read the headlines.”

“Okay. ‘Purloined Palette retrieved by punctual P.I.’ Hey, what do ya know, I made the front page!”

“You’ll be famous. Oh, by the way, we put your apartment up on market since your moving into Matt and Noelle’s house.” Tricia said.

“Great. What are David and Karin doing here?” I asked.

“Well, we’re up here looking for a job. We were wondering if you could use your connections to get us one.” David stated.

“Say no more, you can come work for me!”

“Really?”

“Sure, Tricia, take them over to my place and show them around.”

“Right now?”

“Sure, why not.”

“Yes sir.” She said, saluting.

“Hey Adam, as a bonus, here are two passes for free acting and meal at the Smoking Gun.” Patrick said.

“Thanks.”

“Well, I’ve got to be going.” He said, leaving.

“Well, who’s next?”

“The volleyball team and I would like to present you with this gift.” Andy said, handing me a volleyball. “We figure that you could use this in rehab.”

“Thanks.” I replied, Marie bent over and kissed me on the cheek.

“Not now, Marie.” Andy said. “The volleyball team bids you farewell.” He said as they left.

“I’ve gotta go too.” Kate said, waving good-bye.

“Well, it looks like it’s down to us five.” Dan said.

“Hey Adam, can I come over to your house this summer?” Heidi asked.

“Sure, when?”

“Now?”

“Now!”

“Yeah, I’ll help Karin and David move in.”

“Okay, you can take the pink room at the top of the hall, next to the master bedroom.”

“How do you know all of this about your house?” Dan asked.

“Huh? Oh, I was in it once.”

“Oh. I’d better take her over there, but next year, watch out world.”

“What’s next year?”

“She gets her permit!” He said, leaving.
