“You know, my wife from my dreams. I remembered that I was supposed to meet my wife yesterday, and she’s the only one that came to the office.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. But last night we had a little girl talk, and that’s what I found out.” She said.
“Oh, they’re really reliable.” I said sarcastically, returning to my paper. Tricia got up, and after she had left, I put down the paper and went for a walk. It was the latter half of summer, and some of the leaves had just begun changing color. It was a gorgeous sight. I walked along a path that I had traversed just a few weeks ago. It was then that I was trying solved the Purloined Palette caper, and was caught in a deadly game, of which I never knew I was in. If it hadn’t been for that lightning storm, many years ago, I probably would have still been in there! But what are these dreams about? I wondered.
I came upon the pond. Sitting down upon the shore, I watched some ducks float by. I sat there for a while and fell to sleep. I awoke to the shaking of Noah, who had a horse behind him. I got up and he said, “Adam, I think I have a clue!”
“A clue?? From what?”
“A clue from the steak out. Come with me.” I got up and rode to the house with him. We went directly to the workshop. Once inside, “There was no noise, nothing seen, right?”
“That’s true.” I responded.
“Maybe it’s that game! Maybe Matt and Noelle have set up a game in that building, and the tenants are disappearing into it!”
“I highly doubt it. Nobody got in or out! Nobody even left the room, at least by normal means!”
“Oh.” He said. “All right, I leave you to your women.” He said with a smile. He left and I went into the parlor and sat down. I looked at a clock, which said it was close to eleven. I turned on the T.V. and watched something that I don’t recall the plot of. Getting up at noon, I went into the kitchen to check on lunch.
“What’s for lunch?” I asked Karin.
“Hot dogs and hamburgers.” She replied. “I’m setting up the grill on the patio, care to help me.” I attempted to be of some assistance, but my attempt was in vain. All I managed to do was to get my clothes and face all black. The ladies came out, and saw me. I quickly got out my kerchief and tried to wipe my face off. The only thing I accomplished in that act was to smudge the grease. They giggled, and I excused myself, and went upstairs, where I changed my clothes. I came back out and sat in my seat at the table. “What’ll you have Adam?”
“Two hot dogs, please.”
“Comin’ right up!” She said. She brought over my food and asked the ladies what they wanted. Both gave an order, prayed and ate.
“I’m really looking forward to the ride we’re going to take.” Tracy said.
“I think you’ll find that my property is quite lovely in the summer. By the way, Tricia, aren’t you supposed to be in bed?”
“Oh, yeah.” She said, getting up and exiting. Upon finishing, Karin came and cleared the table. We got up together, and went inside.
“Give me a minute and I’ll be ready.” Tracy said, running up the stairs. I went to the stables and met David.
