At church that night, I again ran the Sound System, and then told Mrs. Reynolds that I would try to sing in the quartet. She was delighted, and gave me some music to work on right away. After church, I telephoned Mrs. Foster and told her that it was highly doubtful that I would make practice for the first part of the week, and I explained why. She understood, and I said that I would get a sub for those days I was gone. I then called Sam Walker who agreed to sub for me. We went to sleep that night, knowing that the next few days would be grueling.

1056260_airplane_ The next day, Noah and Laura came home. We went to meet them at the airport. “Flight 103 from Flagstaff, now exiting at Gate A,” came the voice over the intercom. Grabbing Tracy’s arm, I headed for that gate. Noah and Laura came down the ramp, both looking terribly distraught.

“I never want to go on another trip with you again!” Laura said.

“It’s not my fault that you got into an argument with that man in the seat next to us.” Noah started.

“Well, he asked for it. What nerve, telling me a woman’s place is in the home!”

“But, isn’t it?”

“Now don’t you start– unless you want to sleep in the den for the rest of your life.”

“All right, all right. Oh, hi Adam. What’s up?”

“Not much. Ready to leave?”

“Leave, we just got back!?”

“True, but we have no time to waste if we want to capture those people from the B&O.”

“Really, what’s your plan?”

“Not here. Go home, and meet me at my house at one.”

“All right.” Noah said, turning to get his luggage. Tracy clung to my arm as we went to the car.

“Where are we going?” She asked.

“To pick up some items we made need on this trip.” I said. In a little while, we were at Erb Phillipsons Air Force and Marines store. We entered the building and went to the camouflage section. “Ah, here we go, camouflage.”

“Camouflage, for what?”

“For our raid!” I said. We paid for eight pairs which had the label “One size fits All” written on it. We then went to women’s clothing store. I parked the car outside the store and gave Tracy the following instructions. “I want you to go in there and pick out a bikini of relatively light color for you, Laura, Tricia, Stacey and Marie.”

“What for?”

“Just do it!” I ordered. She went in, and came out with a bag, in which I thought the merchandise was in. We then went to my house, where I telephoned Tricia, Stacey, and Marie and Andy. We all were to meet at one.

One o’ clock rolled around, and we all met at my house. “Here is what we’re going to do. I want all you girls to go in the other room and put on the bikinis that Tracy has purchased. I now that they’re tacky, ugly, and probably don’t fit perfectly, but we need them for our plan. Over top of them, put on the camouflage clothing I have. As soon as that is completed, come in here and get your face and neck painted. Men, get camo, then paint.”
