Blonde Girl “So what happens next?” Jocelyn asked.

“In what?” Noah responded.

“The story! Adam’s asleep in your apartment. He just called you to ask if he and Tricia were married. He fell asleep and then the chapter ends. I couldn’t find anything else, so what happens next?”

“How should I know!”

“Don’t you remember?!”

“It’s his imagination! I think I recall him saying that the future was next, but he says he doesn’t remember, or that’s the dream or something.”

“Oh.” Changing the subject, she said, “I really want to meet this guy. The adventures he goes through are remarkable. His cousin, Dan, seems like a cool guy too.”

“Yeah, well, don’t forget who saved him from all of that. I mean, I got him out of there, and we’re gonna catch the bad guys while he’s over playing house in Bracknell.”

“The way I read it, you’re the one who got him in all of that mess. Anyway, tell me about this case,” Jocelyn said, pulling a chair out from the table. She twisted the chair around and sat on it backwards.

“I’ll do better than that!” Noah got up, asked Karin if she needed anything down street, then left. In a few minutes he returned. Dumping a bunch of file folders on the coffee table in the living room, Jocelyn started to read through my cases. For some reason or another, they fascinated her.

Bed-time came pretty late, but eventually they all retired. Sleeping well, Noah, David and Connie left early the next morning to get a helicopter and fly to the island. They landed out in the water sometime around noon, and paddled in by raft. David decided to tag along, but brought a remote started that Noah had rented, at an extremely high fee, just in case. Once on the island, they decided to go to the prison area first, since that was the least populated place normally. Once they got there, they observed many figures taking down the buildings. These figures were dressed in assorted clothing from blue-jeans to over-alls. All were wearing hats and tee-shirts. “Who are all these people?” David asked.

“I don’t know, but let’s find out.” Noah said. They continued to scout around the building until they found a person all alone. “Let’s take him.” Noah approached the person. Noah walked up behind, grabbed the hand with the hammer, and put one hand over the person’s mouth. “All right, come with me.” He took the person over to their hiding place. “All right, mister. What’s going on?”

The person turned her face towards Noah, who was shocked. “I’m going to scream!” The girl said.

“Shh… please,” Connie said. “We’re looking for someone.”

“Why should I help you?” She asked.

“Because he’s her husband.” Connie pointed at Noah, who smiled.

“Any better reason?”

“Because this is an evil plot to take over America?”

“Better.”
