“Great.” I said, sarcastically.
“You should be happy, he could change the whole economy, and bring prosperity to the land.”
“You’re right, I’m just so exhausted from our walk.”
“How are we going to get back?”
“I have no idea.” Just then there was a knock on the door.
“Hello, is anyone in here?” A voice said.
“Yes.” I said, opening the door. “How did you find us?”
“It was quite simple. Someone saw your car go in the river, but when he came out to help, you had already left. He then went in and called us. It took us this long to get here. I hope you don’t mind riding snowmobiles back.”
“Not at all.” Tracy said. We got on the snowmobiles and drove back home. Heather called and told us that the police had captured the people who matched the fingerprints on the phony glass, and they had the gem in custody. That was a relief, but dear reader, this is only the third chapter, don’t think that this story ends so soon. No, these were not your everyday pick-pockets! While I was busy, getting home and preparing for the “field trip”, the villains were planning stage two.
