Glowing Gem

“Oh, lipstick, blush, seductive clothing, handcuffs, rope, a nice bed…”

‘Seriously?!”

“No,” she said, laughing, “Only the first three. She’s really gone overboard with you, I’d watch it.”

“Well, we must have that information. My source tells me that the gem is somewhere in town, in fact, she says that it’s right under my nose.

“Where could that be?”

“I don’t know. Well, I guess I must go to my fate. Wish me luck.”

“Good luck!” I braced myself, and prepared to enter. Knowing what Noah said, about his potion making the effected female get more in love until the end of the third day, I was a little nervous, but also a little anxious. I didn’t want to have to come back a third day! I opened the door, and saw Amanda, wearing a low-cut blouse, and a very tight mini-skirt.

“Hello, honey.” Amanda said.

“Hello, dear. Have they been treating you well in here?”

“Just terrible. Come over here and sit by me, please?” Amanda said. That’s funny, I thought. She seems more under control this time. I walked over and sat next to her on her bed. She got up, quickly, and sat on my lap, throwing her arms around my neck, and trying to pull me to lie down. Fortunately I am stronger than she was. “Come on, Adam, I love you!” Amanda said as she struggled.

“First, you must tell me something.”

“Anything!”

“Where’s the gem!”

“How should I know? I told those two guys to sell it as soon as possible. It could be anywhere now. Now kiss me.” She pulled her face toward mine, and she kissed me.

“So, you have no idea.”

“I suppose I could contact them if got out, why?”

“I need the gem.”

“Awe, you’re so sweet, you were going to make that into our wedding ring.”

“Yeah, right. If I bring you in a phone, could you call your friends and find out where the gem is?”

“I guess, honey.” She said, kissing me again. By now my face was covered with lipstick. I called for Heather, who brought a phone in. Amanda dialed and asked her friends where the gem was. They told her, and she relayed the message to me. I thanked her, gave her a glass of water with NCA 10.2. Within seconds, Amanda snapped out of it, realizing what she had done. “You’ll pay, Adam!”

“Thanks, dear.” I replied. Heather and I left, while two other policemen restrained Amanda, who was trying to get after me.

“Where did she say the gem was?”

“Well, she said that they were trying to sell it here in the city! In the same office building that I work in.”

“Wow!”

“Yes, let’s go get us some crooks.” We went over to my office building, and going to the floor above it, I looked through the snowy window. There was something bright in there, with four figures. The policemen broke down the door to reveal four cut out people, and a hanging glass sphere. A piece of paper lying on a table said ‘Gotcha!’ “Looks like Amanda pulled me for a loop.”

“Sure does.” The police officers said.

“I guess it’s time to find out what the word on the street is.”

“And how do you propose to do that?” One asked.

“Easy. Go undercover.” I replied.
