Chapter 4 Recap – The Ladies

Here is the biographical information and current status of the leading ladies in our story so far.  Sorry I haven’t gotten to them sooner.  You can learn more about them on Thursdays!

Name: Tricia Downing

Occupation: Museum Tour Guide

Schooling: Nanapolis College:  BA in History, Minor in Violin

Friends: Adam Schofield, Noah Prescott, Laura Eisenhart

Dating: Adam Schofield– kinda.  They had their first date and we all know how that went.

Status: In the Game with Adam

Tricia entered the game in chapter 4 to go and try to rescue Adam.  Instead, Matt and Noelle figured out that it was a trick and decided to abduct her and run Adam through some different surroundings.  First, they took him back in time, but Adam was clever enough to contact the current Tricia and get the police to help find the captured one.  When that didn’t work, Noelle pretended to bring them both back and inform them that Noah and Laura get married the next day and that they have turned in the Palette and hope not to get prosecuted.  A likely story.

I think that Tricia is getting a little more than she bargained for after just one date.

Name: Laura Eisenhart

Occupation: Florist

Schooling: Louisville High School

Friends: Adam Schofield, Tricia Downing

Fiance: Noah Prescott

Status: Unknown

In this chapter, Laura suggests that Tricia enter Matt and Noelle’s game in order to rescue Adam.  She’s scheduled to marry Noah in Chapter 5– or so we’re told.  It’s at this wedding that Adam starts to realize that it’s all too good to be true.  I mean, when you see what they do for their wedding you know that Matt and Noelle went a little overboard creating this environment for Adam– it’s unbelievable, even for Noah.

Story Recap

Well, you’ve now been introduced to a few things that are going to be with us for some time. The first is the Smoking Gun restaurant. As you may or may not know, I have written three “books” as a teen that never were published. They were mostly from my imagination at the time, having the characters working through different situations in real time. Well, in each of the three books the characters end up back at the Smoking Gun restaurant re-enacting this Western scene again and again.

The other thing that was introduced in this latest chapter is the whole concept of “the game.” This will be a feature in all of the books, but is the primary story device for this book. I don’t know if it strictly came from the idea of a holodeck from Star Trek or is something more than that– it definitely can do more than a holodeck (it will mess with time at one point, and actually is like the “bad” holodeck in that it can kill.

Other than that, here is where I think the story started to become interesting as that anything could truly happen and Adam starts to look at his relationships in different ways. You’ll see it more as the story unfolds.

Chapter 1 Recap

Name: Noah Prescott

Occupation: Inventor

Schooling: BA Electrical Engineering

Friends: Adam Schofield, Tricia Downing

Fiance: Laura Eisenhart

Story So Far:

Noah graduated from college and moved into an apartment with Adam. He spends most of his time with his fiance, Laura, whom he proposed to and she accepted.

Noah’s known to be able to fix all sorts of items and gadgets, but he doesn’t want to become too involved in Adam’s Private Eye business because he figures that it isn’t going anywhere.

He’s much more interested in Adam’s love life, and getting him a girlfriend. To that end, Laura finds Tricia, and Noah proceeds to play match maker.
