What’s Going On Here?

That’s right, Laura wanted to let you all know that this site has changed.  We have a new look, and a new story.  The last of the trilogy is already in progress—and let’s just say that it’s probably the zaniest ride of the bunch!

I’m also at work getting all the chapters linked back into series as well as getting all the chapters in the pages that tell what’s where.

So open up those exterior shutters of yours and take a look around.  We hope you’ll like what you see!

Story Update

So, it’s taking much longer than I thought to publish this first story.  And I have an idea of something I really want to do on this site with tossing a story back and forth with another author.  But it’s not fair to our characters to just leave them stranded in the middle of chapter 11 wondering what will happen.  I mean, this is one of the most fun parts of this story– where Adam uses his own book to figure out how to beat the bad guys!

So, from here on out, the main story will go a page a day (no more MWF) until it’s done, even though we may start a new adventure in the middle. 

Will that confuse you?  Is anyone reading this still?  Is that just my own echo?

Chapter 2 Starts Monday

I know, you’ve waited long enough. Monday will start Chapter 2. The schedule for releasing this book is a chapter a month, and that will give us time between chapters to talk about what’s happening, to give you some background on the characters, and to have other discussions.

For example:

• Do you think that Adam will eventually date Tricia?
• Why is Adam so obsessed with Volleyball?
• Are there any twists here?
• Can this get any more boring?

The next chapter is entitled “Hostages”. It is at this time that, as Adam gets closer to actually finding the robbers that they decide to scare him off. It’s also at this stage that, I think, it becomes interesting.

Sneak Peak:

• Two people will be kidnapped.
• A knock-knock joke will make its appearance.
• The girls get scared, and force everyone to make some adjustments.

Well, that’s it for now. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

What About the Characters?

My grandmother always said that you should start with some kind of biography for your characters.  Liking to write more than I liked actually planning my characters, I took from people I knew and what they were like for the basis of the characters.

Of course, the names have all been changed to protect the people who I based the characters off of, but there is some of me in here as well as other people I know.  It’s been fun scanning through this stuff, looking for names and people I knew.

At some point I’ll probably go back through and actually write some biographies– maybe at a break between chapters.  I’m actually excited to give faces to the characters via stock photography.

You won’t have to wait much longer for the adventure to begin…

So How Does This Work?

Well, basically, I’m going to follow a three-times-a-week schedule where I post a page from the stories that I’ve created.  I’ll be using the In Series plugin to tie together all the pages under a chapter.  After a while chapter has been posted, we’ll take a break and have some conversation.  I may do some polling, ask you where the story is going, get your comments…  I really intend to have fun with this and hope that you enjoy the chance to escape and follow an amusing story.

Of course, comments will be opened on ever page, so you can talk about what’s happening and guess what’s happening next there.  I may even create some kind of competition at some point where you’ll have to go back or comment in the efforts to win an autographed copy… should I ever publish it.

And I don’t know how many will actually see this post, since I haven’t really publicized this site yet, but I will soon.  Perhaps a link on  MInTheGap before doing a banner, I don’t know.
