Meanwhile, the girls in the other room got a phone call which we heard over the bug. She called Karin back. Karin got the number, and then Tracy and Tricia got to discussing where the villains would show of the jewel tonight. They were just about to divulge their plan when I heard the phone ring. With half my face as me, and half as the unknown soldier, I answered it. It was Karin. She told me all was good. I dialed Tracy’s room. Turning off the speaker, to keep from causing feedback, I listened.

The time passed quickly and Tracy and Tricia were waiting outside. Both Kendall and I were dressed up, for our characters. I had gained a limp, not to keep with character as much as because my leg hurt. We took their car over to a fancy restaurant. It felt kind of funny being driven around by Tracy! Entering the restaurant, we found a table for four. I held out the chair for Kendall, who sat down. Across the table from me was Tracy, and next to her was Tricia. “Nice little place.” Tricia complemented.

“Hey! That — no, something’s wrong with it.”
“What?”
“The names. The first names are too close in rhyming.”
“What do you suggest?”
“How about George and Judy Smith?”
“George? George??”
“Well, it’s better than Jake and Judy.”
“Well. All right, Judy, I’m going to call home and see if Tracy has called there.”
“Good idea. Meanwhile, I’ll try to come up with a little background to go along with this plan.”
“You know, I think I liked it better when I was only your brother!” I said to Kendall. She smiled. I picked up the phone and dialed my number.
“Hello?” The voice on the other end of the line said.
“Hello, Kristin?”
“Yes, this is Kristin.”

“Not a problem.” She went inside. Walking over to the phone, she placed the bug and dialed her own number. Getting no answer, since she had no answering machine, she stated that she still couldn’t get a hold of them. She sat down on the bed.
Putting her head onto her hands she started to sob, “I just don’t understand it.”
“What’s wrong,” asked Tracy, coming over.
“I just can’t seem to get her.”
“Who?”

“You haven’t seen anything yet. You should have been with me last summer. Now there was some excitement!”
“Really?”
“Why of course.” We were called to board the plane, and we went inside. We had seats in the very back, because we were not on our flight. “I hope you remembered your winter clothes.”
“What winter clothes?”
“Right. You live in Florida. You don’t have to worry about winter clothes!” I said. “I guess we’ll just have to pick you up something when we get there.”
