The Disappearing Damsel in Distress
Picking up where The Mystery of the Purloined Palette took off, Adam Schofield awakes at his house, walks back to his office, and starts on an adventure of epic proportions. Journey with him and his gang as they try to prevent the girl of his dreams (literally) from disappearing, and all the hilarious hijinks that ensue on his quest to get the girl and solve the case.
Chapter 1: The Mystery Begins – Adam returns to his office while still recovering from his last adventure because he believes that someone important is coming. What he finds is a girl who claims that she is scared she will be kidnapped, and Adam calls on his friends to develop a plan to keep her safe.
Chapter 2: A Day in the Life of Detective Schofield – Adam and Tracy explore the house, believing there’s nothing new to learn about the disappearances. At the end of the day, they plan a Capture the Flag Game with all of their friends.
Chapter 3: The Game’s Afoot – The gang is all divided up into teams. Adam picks a clever place for his “jail” and for the flag’s location. All seems lost when he gets captured– but is there any doubt who will win this one?
Chapter 4: The Game Ends: The Mystery Unfolds – Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, Adam ends up winning the game, but he’s given more information about what’s going on, and everyone gets “back to work.”
Chapter 5: Kidnapping: Blackmail or Brainwashing – The secretaries start reappearing after some time has passed, so Adam and Tricia decide to see if they can figure out just why the girls disappeared, and why have they started to return.
Chapter 6: Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire!!! – Adam, Noah, and a few of the girls break out of the prison on the island and make a daring attempt to rescue Tracy from Sir in the main headquarters.
Chapter 7: There’s No Place Like Home – After finding some information, Adam and the gang head back to the island on a hunch that there will be more information there about where the missing secretaries are being kept.
Chapter 8: Adam, Tracy and Kristin in Bracknell, England – Adam and Tracy take Kristin to England, as one of the locations that the missing secretaries has been taken. He meets up with some old friends and Tracy wonders if she should go home.
Chapter 9: A Lead, A Kidnapping, and a Clue – While in England, looking for Tricia, Adam and Kristin end up dealing with Sir’s men as they attempt to have them put in prison.
Chapter 10: There’s No Place Like Nome! – Noah heads off to Nome, Alaska, in an attempt to find Laura and some other secretaries. He finds many of them, and finds himself wondering what to do with all these good looking girls around him.
Chapter 11: Too Many Blond Secretaries – Noah brings the girls back to Adam’s house, where they are given rooms and go shopping. Noah gets a lead on where Laura may be, and they take off after her.
Chapter 12: The Daring Young Man on the Catwalk – Adam returns home and tries to rebuild a relationship with Tracy. Everything wraps up with Adam wondering who the mystery girl is from the first story, and whether it could be Tracy.
